Annular ring load cells Amalgamated Instrument Co Pty Ltd (AIC) now offers a range of annular ring or "washer" load cells.

This style of load cell is used in compression mode and is used to measure the tension in a bolt, cable or rod passing through the hole in the centre of the cell.

Examples of applications would be the measurement of tension in the cable or cables in a prestressed concrete element or the determination of weight in a silo where the silo mountings are bolts through the load cell.

Two models are available SG-AR and ASG-ARL. The SG-ARL range are low profile allowing for installation where space is at a premium.

The SG-AR model is offered in capacities from 0 to 0.5 tonnes up to 0 to 300 tonnes.

The SG-ARL model is offered in capacities from 0 to 6 tonnes up to 0 to 75 tonnes.

The cells are constructed of stainless steel and alloy steel and sealed to IP65. Both the SG-AR and SG-ARL models are fitted with a 6m cable.

The cells have excellent specifications and, when used with AIC's instrumentation, will provide an accurate system for tension measurement.
