Gourmet cookie without the fat

Lifestyle Range: Fig and Pecan cookie, produced by the Byron Bay Cookie Company, is a finalist in the FOOD Magazine Challenge Awards.

The range was developed in response to a market need for healthier options in the gourmet cookie segment.

The range also contains a Fruit and Nut Medley cookie; both are reduced fat and dairy free.

A substitute fruit juice product was used to reduce the fat content of the Fig and Pecan cookie by 30% from the regular Fig and Pecan cookie in the Café Range.

Dairy-free margarine is used in the Fruit and Nut cookie to eliminate the dairy content of the product.

The product was specifically designed for Qantas, which had a need for healthier product options on its menus.

The cookies were launched on Qantas and to the wider public in 2006.
