On-the-go tuna pots

A proactive approach to marketing, and the use of packaging to extend the appeal of tuna to a new age range, has made Greenseas Chunky Tuna & Salmon varieties, produced by HJ Heinz, a finalist in the FOOD Magazine Challenge Awards.

Greenseas Chunky Tuna and Salmon is available in a 100g plastic pot with a resealable lid and comes with a spork (a fork and spoon cross), which ensures the product can be consumed anywhere at anytime.

Transit sampling at busy stations in Sydney and Melbourne saw 40,000 pots of tuna given away to commuters.

The consumption of tuna for young adults is low at 11% for people aged 16 to 24 so an opportunity exists to further penetrate into the kids and teenage market with Chunky Tuna and Salmon, which is in a format suitable for kids’ lunch boxes.
