Crest Chocolates' new Flowcoat system flooring.
Specialising in quality confectionery, Crest Chocolates of Brisbane wanted a high specification flooring finish to match the rest of its high-tech facility. Significant capital investment had been made to install sophisticated processing, packaging and wrapping equipment, enabling the firm to export its produce to a wide network of local and international markets including Japan.

Among the criteria was that the new floor be in keeping with the standards of the firm’s HACCAP quality assurance accreditation.

Flowcrete recommended its seamless Flowcoat system with non-slip finish which was installed in the main processing areas. The solvent-free system is hard-wearing and offers superior chemical resistant properties, making it suitable for use in processing environments.

According to Crest Managing Director, Alan Davis, the floor is delivering positive results. “We find that the seamless finish is easier to maintain. We can complete wash downs more quickly due to reduced surface retention of the water.”

Flowcrete’s licensed contractor Remedial Building Services was able to carry out the project within the client’s required timeframe, ensuring minimum disruption to production.
