The Coffee Club will open 100 steakhouses throughout Australia, after buying the Ribs and Rumps chain.
The Coffee Club has been remarkably successful since it began in Brisbane over two decades ago, and now boasts 273 stores nationally.
It hopes to expand on its success with its ten year plan to open ten stores per year for the next decade.
The Coffee Club’s founding director Emmanuel Drivas said the decision to acquire the steakhouse chain was made after careful consideration about the best fit for the company.
“Ribs and Rumps fills a particular segment in the steakhouse market, offering contemporary casual steakhouse dining with premium quality ingredients at affordable prices,” he said.
“This is a market with huge opportunities.”
The first Ribs and Rumps restaurant was opened in Manly, Sydney 16 years ago and there are now five in Australia, one in Dubai and one in South Africa.
“Ribs and Rumps operate a similar family friendly environment to The Coffee Club, with both brands appealing to the same customer base,” Drivas said.
“The acquisition of Ribs and Rumps is the first step in turning The Coffee Club Group into a multiple brand restaurant company, and hopes to acquire more brands in the near future.”
