Food microbiology goes back to basics

The 13th Food Microbiology Conference will be held in Melbourne in March.

The conference, themed 'Back to Basics and Beyond', includes concurrent sessions, which go 'back to basics' for delegates interested in practical industry applications, 'and beyond' for the research sessions.

Key international and Australian speakers will bring together relevant information on factory hygiene, microorganisms in the food chain, water quality, microbiological issues in fresh produce, minimally processed foods.

Discussions on method updates, regulation and co-regulation, will give us food for thought regarding practical issues that we all need to deal with.

The conference will also feature two workshops:

  • Laboratory Accreditation workshop by NATA; and
  • Beyond Food Safety Management with Frank Yiennas, VP food safety, Wal-Mart Stores Inc.

The conference will be held on March 24-26 at Rydges on Bell Preston, Melbourne.

Early bird registration closes February 6.

For the program and registration options, go to www.aifst.com.au or contact the AIFST national office on (02) 8399 3996.
