13 categories for wine awards show

13 categories

Entries are open for an awards show held annually by Wine Communicators of Australia (WCA) to celebrate diverse contributions within the wine industry. There will be a total of 13 categories.

The Wine Communicator Awards, now in its 13th year, will feature 13 award categories – including two new additions aimed at broadening recognition across the sector.

The two new categories include:

  • Best Wine Communicator: Marketing – recognising marketers who have demonstrated consistent success across multiple wine campaigns over the past three years.
  • Best Wine Communicator: Sales – highlighting a sommelier, wine sales representative, or liquor store or bar staff member performing strongly in retail, distribution, or on-premise settings.

“These Awards now truly celebrate the diverse contributions made to the wine industry across a number of different communication channels, and we can’t wait to see all the talented entries flood in over the coming weeks,” said board member and awards committee chair at WCA, Olivia Barrie.

Entries for each award category will be reviewed and judged by a panel of industry professionals, who will determine a shortlist of finalists. The final 2025 Wine Communicator of the Year will then be selected from the 13 category winners in consultation with the WCA Board.

Winners will be announced on 6 November 2025 at an awards ceremony in Sydney.

Entries close on 15 August 2025.
