A new leader in product identification

2008 has been a year of change, none more so than in the coding and labeling industry.

Earlier this year it was announced that two of the largest global providers of coding and marking solutions: Markem Corporation of USA and Imaje Group of France, both Dover Corporation companies, were coming together in 2008 to form the world’s leading coding and marking company, Markem-Imaje.

In the Australian market, this integration has been watched very closely by all involved. Markem-Imaje has announced that the Markem business of Unimark has joined forces with the direct Australian subsidiary of Markem-Imaje.

In the interests of maintaining continuity of supply and support to their customers, Unimark and Markem-Imaje have reached an agreement in which the staff and activities of Unimark will integrate with Markem-Imaje.

It is this joining of forces that has strengthened Markem-Imaje’s position as the global leader in product identification, not only through their product range, but now with customer support and service as well.

What does this mean for previous Markem and Imaje customers? Markem-Imaje assures that the investment their customers have made in Markem and Imaje products will continue to be secure with on-going service and support from a stronger entity, providing a seamless transition to better quality service.

Both companies enjoy a reputation for well-supported, market-leading coding solutions, and this combination of integrity and expertise forms the core of Markem-Imaje. This positive union provides Markem-Imaje with the unique ability to partner with companies who are looking for a team that can deliver a complete, global solution at the best cost of ownership.

From 1 August 2008, Unimark staff, inventory, and other assets have transferred to Markem-Imaje. Markem-Imaje will continue to honour all equipment warranties and fulfil all maintenance and consumable contracts. Until further notice, Markem customers can continue to contact Markem-Imaje on the same numbers for sales, service and consumables.

This is the start of an exciting new era as Markem-Imaje continues to build on the strong relationship that both companies have enjoyed with their customers — a mutually beneficial relationship all look forward to continuing under the new direct channel of Markem-Imaje.
