Krispy Kreme’s use of a similarly named and decorated range of doughnuts to Arnott’s Iced Vo-Vo biscuits recently raised the ire of the company that has made the biscuits for over a century.
Arnott’s recently threatened legal action, warning the doughnut chain to cease selling the doughnuts which are covered in pink icing and coconut flakes and sold under the name “Iced Dough-Vo”.
It was alleged that the doughnuts infringed the biscuit maker’s intellectual property and 103 year-old Vo-Vo trademark.
Krispy Kreme had earlier claimed imitation was the sincerest form of flattery however late last week decided to back down and agreed to rename the product from 11 May.
