The a2 Milk Company (a2MC) has expanded its long-term strategic cooperation with China State Farm Agribusiness Holding Shanghai Co. (CSFA) to include English label infant milk formula (IMF) products in the cross-border eCommerce channel.
The partnership will begin with a2 Genesis in early 2026, with plans to include other English label IMF products over time.
CSFA has been a2MC’s strategic distribution partner in China since 2013 . Since the start of the partnership, distribution has grown to over 100 active distributors, supplying around 30,000 mother and baby stores and major online platforms.
CSFA is a wholly owned subsidiary of China National Agriculture Development Group Co. (CNADC), a central government state-owned enterprise that provides agricultural services throughout China. With 17 subsidiaries and three listed companies, CNADC’s experience and scale make it a strong long-term partner for a2MC.
Including a2 Genesis within CSFA’s exclusive import and master distribution arrangements allows a2MC to strengthen its control over English label distribution, expand its network of flagship and self-run retail stores, and simplify logistics and warehousing operations. The collaboration also provides trade partners and consumers with confidence in the traceability and quality of the company’s products, supported by a state-owned enterprise partnership.
“The a2 Milk Company’s close strategic partnership with China State Farm is a key factor to our success in China, and I am delighted to be able to extend our cooperation to include the English label cross-border eCommerce channel,” said managing director and chief executive officer of a2MC David Bortolussi.
“CSF values its long-term exclusive relationship with The a2 Milk Company which is a leading example of successful cooperation in the dairy nutrition sector and also reflects the strong relationship between China and New Zealand,” said Zhang Lei, chairman of CSFA.
