The Australian Meat Industry Council (AMIC) has appointed two new board directors, Brooke Dawson and Dominic van Dyk.

Both directors have understanding of day to day industry conditions and are expected to support the council. The appointments come at a time when the sector continues to navigate change, including market conditions, regulatory requirements and workforce challenges.

AMIC chair Tom Maguire welcomed the new directors and noted the value of their industry insight.

“Brooke and Dom bring fresh perspectives and strong leadership skills to the AMIC Board,” said Maguire.

“Their industry expertise will be invaluable as AMIC continues to evolve and deliver programs that support the profitability and long-term sustainability of our members.”

Brooke Dawson, executive chair at Oakdale Meat Co, has joined the board as a member of the National Processor Council.

On the other hand, Dominic van Dyk, of Wimmera Super Meat Market, has joined the board as a member of the National Retail Council.

Their combined backgrounds strengthen the board’s representation of different parts of the industry as AMIC continues its work on behalf of members.
