AUS plantbased start-up takes significant strides in UK and Europe

Established back in Sydney 2019, sports nutrition and protein-rich product start-up, vybey, has now arrived in the UK & Europe.

Retail wins in Wholefood, Deliveroo and Amazon mean the Australian born SME is now enjoying meaningful European-wide growth as a vocal disruptor within clean-deck nutrition and nootropics.

According to vybey, Australian sales of the products grew in excess of 520 per cent over the last year & still represents 83 per cent of total global sales

“vybey stands tall within plant-based protein drink solutions, tapping into a growing consumer enthusiasm for protein-rich propositions which prioritise ingredient transparency and responsible sourcing,” said vybey founder, Gordon Belch.

“vybey initially found its feet in Australia and is now gathering pace within the UK and Europe by positioning itself as so much more than a basic protein boost.”

“Australia’s unrivalled appetite for functional drinks and food innovation meant that Sydney provided the perfect incubator setting for vybey.”

Scottish-born Gordon Belch had arrived in Sydney late 2018 as a newly qualified accountant (KMPG) with only £800 in his bank account.

Today vybey has achieved in excess of $1m total sales with 70 per cent secured within the last 12 months.

Vybey said even the most tentative forecasts suggest that the 670 per cent increase in online sales over the last year will soon translate into $4 million sales over the next 12 months.
