With Australia’s diverse and multicultural food scene, Malaysian street-style noodles, Maggi Kari, have launched in supermarkets across the country.

The Maggi noodles are made using 100 per cent Australian wheat and have been available in Malaysia for over 50 years.

To celebrate the launch, chef Junda Khoo served the noodles with his unique spin at his Sydney restaurant, Ho Jiak Town Hall. Held on 15th May, the booked-out event offered the meal in three different styles, each priced at $3.

“Available for one night only, featuring a range of flavours from deliciously warm to sensationally spicy, we’ve created three bespoke recipes so there’s a curry noodle meal for all noodle lovers,” said head chef of Ho Jiak Town Hall Junda Khoo

“With traditional heat and fragrant spices, these Maggi Kari noodle recipes are a true celebration of Malaysia’s obsession with big, exciting tastes.”

With growing demand for instant meals in Australian supermarkets, Nestlé has partnered with Khoo to introduce the street-style noodle brand to the local market.

“To celebrate the launch of Maggi Kari in Australia, we’ve partnered with the legendary Junda Khoo to share the bold, hot and spicy curry noodle flavours of Malaysia with Aussies,” said head of marketing, foods of Nestle Monique Koning.

The five-pack Maggi Kari noodles launched across retailers on 19th May 2025.
