Mountain Culture has confirmed plans to acquire Fox Friday Craft Brewery as part of its strategy to expand nationally across Australia.
With growing demand in Melbourne and Hobart, the acquisition aims to service existing customers while reaching new markets through local collaborations and limited releases.
“This was a big move for Mountain Culture,” said chief executive officer at Mountain Culture DJ McCready.
“We started as a humble brewpub in Katoomba and it’s never lost on us that the fans we first met there are what built this brand into what it is today.
“Buying Fox Friday’s assets gives us a chance to create new fans and most importantly, new local communities.”
The company described its subsequent deals to on-sell the Perth brewpub and Carwyn Cellars as positive steps for both independent businesses and the broader craft beer industry.
Mountain Culture plans to take over brewing operations at both sites, which will be rebranded and relaunched in July.
“Everyone has been so welcoming since the announcement and again we’ll be looking to work with all the locals to build something special that they can be proud of,” McCready added.
The venues will continue to operate as Fox Friday before closing. Mountain Culture brews will gradually begin appearing on the venues’ taps and in fridges.
