Chef Caleb Azuka, of CALEB Restaurant & Bar in Subiaco, was honoured in Sydney at the Business Elite 40 Under 40 Awards.

The Business Elite Awards, known for its recognition of extraordinary talent and outstanding business leadership, is a global institution. With the expansion of its reach beyond traditional boundaries, the Awards have gained recognition on an international scale.

Professionals from around the world eagerly await this prestigious event, showcasing the achievements of individuals who have made significant impacts in their industries. As the event continues to grow in stature and impact, it plays an increasingly pivotal role in connecting global business leaders and fostering cross-cultural exchange of ideas and best practices.

Nigerian-born and raised in Bologna, Italy from early childhood, Chef Azuka has operated CALEB Restaurant & Bar since 2020, bringing his unique perspective on Italian cuisine to Western Australian diners after a decade of working under Michelin-starred chefs including Massimo Bottura.

His two hatted venue offers lunch and dinner as well as a rooftop bar with late night live entertainment. On Mondays, garnering local attention and inviting a slew of volunteers, he offers free dining for those doing it tough.

Azuka said “I am humbled to receive this award. Cooking is my passion. Feeding people brings me joy and helping those less fortunate through food gives me purpose. To be recognised for something I truly love is an incredible honour.”

Azuka added his grateful thanks to family, friends and his many wonderful customers for their unwavering support. “Without you all, I couldn’t achieve my dreams,” he said.

The Award Ceremony and Gala Dinner took place at the luxurious Park Hyatt Sydney on November 29, 2023.
