Chickens fly kites for art

While in tough economic times, people make changes to the way they view food, often choosing to breed their own to cut down on costs, but making it interesting work is another matter.

An entrant into the Szpilman Awards has found a way to make breeding chickens for consumption more visually pleasing, by tying kites to the birds.

The Szpilman Award, named after the German art group Szpilman, is awarded to works that exist only for a moment or a short period of time.

The purpose of the award is to promote such works whose forms consist of ephemeral situations.

The award is open to artists across worldwide. Both individuals and groups of persons are free to apply.

Is tying kites to chickens animal cruelty? Or just a bit of artistic fun?
