Australia’s citrus industry has voted to replace the Australian Citrus Growers association with a new national body, called Citrus Industry Australia.
The decision was made at a special meeting in Griffith, NSW, with an aim to cut administration costs and improve effiency.
Some at the conference were worried that regional areas won’t be well represented in the new body and that costs could continue to increase, but the outgoing board said the changes are the best thing for the industry and will get shoppers buying more Australian citrus.
