Cobram Estate to release its First Harvest 2022

Each year, the Australian extra virgin olive oil brand Cobram Estate selects the best olives from their annual crop to produce their limited edition First Harvest. This year’s First Harvest will become available in May. 

Freshly picked and bottled, First Harvest produces a vibrant green and remarkable oil which is highly anticipated amongst extra virgin olive oil connoisseurs. 

“The 2022 olive growing season has shown quite moderate weather conditions that, combined with a balanced crop, allowed us to develop proportionally big olives with a large amount of flesh and excellent fruity flavours as a consequence,” Cobram Estate chief oil maker Leandro Ravetti said. 

“To make this oil, we have selected our finest Hojiblanca, Picual and Coratina trees, picked them extra early whilst the fruit is just starting to ripe, and gently cold pressed the fresh fruit within four hours of picking. The result is a truly great Australian extra virgin olive oil.” 

First HarvestThe oil itself is bright lime green with shades of gold that promises intense fresh and herbaceous flavours. The aroma is deliciously complex, with fragrances of freshly mown grass, fresh herbs, citrus zest, and marzipan. 

On the palate, the oil is smooth and flavoursome with a pleasant bitterness, and a firm spiciness that develops over time. The aftertaste is clean and balanced, leaving your mouth with a reminiscence of fresh green vegetables and tropical fruit. 

First Harvest 2022 is ideal for seasoning salads of all types; a master touch on grilled vegetables, pasta and fish; or at its simple best, pouring it over freshly toasted bread rubbed with a touch of garlic and sprinkled with salt flakes. 

First Harvest will be available exclusively to the Cobram Estate VIP community from 4 May, and online sales to the public will open on 11 May, while stocks last. Available for a limited time in a 500ml bottle for RRP $60.00.
