Coca-Cola is set to launch a new dairy drink onto the market in the US – fizzy milk.
The drink – skimmed milk combined with sparkling water and flavoured with fruit and cane sugar – is being test-marketed in stores in New York, according to media reports.
The product, called Vio, has been developed so it will not curdle in its aluminium bottle, and sells for around $3.
Vio requires no refrigeration and comes in four flavours – berry, citrus, tropical colada and peach mango.
Each bottle contains 26g of sugar and 1.5g of fat – on par with Coca-Cola’s other non-diet related products.
The drink is reportedly part of a bigger initiative by the company called Project Life in which milk-based products are being developed.
