Coles ‘Drop of Good’ helping to Clean Up Australia

Held over the weekend of 6 and 7 of March, Coles Liquor launched its ‘Drop of Good’ campaign to support Clean Up Australia in their mission to clean, fix and conserve Australia’s environment.

Over the weekend 25 cents from transactions, not including tobacco products or gift cards, at Liquorland, First Choice and First Choice Liquor Markets across Australia was donated to Clean up Australia’s cause.

The funds support volunteer action through contributing to the production and distribution of Clean Up kits. These kits contain biodegradable rubbish, recycling bags, gloves, a high-vis vest and a sharps container for safe waste disposal.

Coles Liquor team members also partook in the Clean Up Australia Day on the Sunday 7 March – Australia’s largest community based environmental event.

Darren Blackhurt, Coles Liquor chief said, “We are delighted to be supporting Clean Up Australia with our “Drop of Good” initiative. We play an important role in so many local communities and I am delighted our team members are getting involved, making their own pledges and will be out and about picking up litter in their local areas.”

Coles Group and Clean up Australia have partnered up since June 2018 and have raised over $590, 000 through selling reusable bags that were designed by Australian school kids.

This campaign comes in line with Coles Liquor’s goal to contribute more sustainably to the local community.

“It is wonderful to see the Drop of Good campaign being channelled to such practical and direct support of community action. Funds raised will allow us to continue to provide free Clean Up Australia materials to our thousands of volunteers across Australia all year round,” said Pip Kiernan, Clean Up Australia’s chairman.
