Bonsoy manufacturers, Spiral Foods, could be sued by customers who are claiming to have suffered ongoing health problems from drinking the soymilk.
Bonsoy was pulled from shelves last year after high levels of iodine in the product were found to be linked to thyroid problems.
Food Standards Australia New Zealand received 38 notifications of thyroid illness believed to be linked to Bonsoy between December and March.
Spiral Foods was given the all-clear in April after the iodine levels returned to normal however a group of customers have joined a class action for compensation for ongoing sickness.
More details of the class action are expected to be announced today.
