Time is running out to get involved in the HACCP Awards, which recognises those who work tirelessly to ensure the safety of Australia’s food supply, with entries closing 13 June.
The awards are run alongside the HACCP Conference, which recognises pioneers in food safety.
Held in Sydney from 26 – 28 August, and hosted by Advancing Food Safety, SAI Global, the conference will explore topical issues in food safety.
The three-day conference will kick off with Advancing Food Safety’s industry-renowned interactive workshops followed by two days of educational talks and seminars from some of the industry’s most respected professionals.
Among the keynote speakers are Steven Newton, MD at Newton Risk-Stream Management, who will forecast a global food pandemic and recommend actions to prevent it. Ros Harvey, Founding Director of Sense T, will discuss food traceability, safety and technology, drawing on her studies through the creation of the world's first economy-wide intelligent sensor network. Gary Smith, Director of Training, Improvement Solutions & Food Safety at SAI Global USA, will discuss the risks associated with allergens along the supply chain.

The HACCP Conference will finish with the prestigious HACCP Conference Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony, on 27 August. HACCP Awards nomination categories include:
- Outstanding Individual Nominated by an agri-food industry company
- Outstanding individual working as a registered food safety auditor
- Outstanding company (single site and multi-site) and
- The Ross Peters Memorial Award for Excellence in Food Safety.
The 21st Australian HACCP Conference and 2014 HACCP Conference Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony will be held at Doltone House, 48 Pirrama Road, Pyrmont.
