Explore the new James Busby range available at Coles Liquor

James Busby

Coles Liquor have released its new James Busby range this month, featuring eight red wines from some of Australia’s most famous viticultural acreage.

The refreshed James Busby range takes the guesswork out of finding a top-quality, Australian red, Coles Liquor general manager Merchandise Brad Gorman said.

“This impressive selection is central to our ambition to be the local drinks specialist with the knowledge and range to introduce our customers to exceptional Australian wine at affordable prices,” Gorman said.

“We’ve moved past the outdated concept that wine passion is only for a select few. Our customers are looking to evolve their tastes by enjoying popular and emerging varietals at an accessible price.”

The refreshed range of wines draws on a selection of Australia’s top-rated growers and producers.

“Whether it is a midweek tipple, gifting or sharing with friends, the James Busby range is a true expression of provenance and offers great value for those looking to drink local,” Gorman said.

From Pinot Noir to Shiraz, each James Busby wine comes from Australia’s top region and vineyard for the varietal. The James Busby range is now available at First Choice Liquor Market and Liquorland stores across Australia.

James Busby Yarra Valley Pinot Noir

Vibrant ruby in colour with aromas of dark cherry, wild strawberry, and hint of savoury spice. The palate is open and generous showing black forest fruits and bay leaf with lifted red florals and a subtle herbal character on the finish.

James Busby Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon

Ripe, layered and complex whilst still having the lovely, perfumed lift for which the best Margaret River Cabernets are known. Blackberry and dry earth with a touch of autumnal leaves define the aroma and flavour of the wine. The flavour is lingering and memorable with lovely dry, subtle tannins characteristic of young Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignons.

James Busby McLaren Vale Shiraz

Deep ruby in colour with a fragrant bouquet of blueberries, vanilla, and spice. Juicy flavours of plum with notes of chocolate coated coffee beans, black pepper, and a hint of earthy truffles.

James Busby Barossa Valley Grenache

Vibrant in colour with raspberry, pomegranate, leather, and thyme aromatics. The palate is filled with cherries and redcurrants, which are countered by warm brown spices and a subtle herbal character. The tannins are delicate and there is lovely ruby grapefruit acidity.

James Busby “Vineyard Series” Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon

Blood plum in colour with cassis and dried herb aromas. The palate is nicely weighted with a medley of blackcurrant, blackberry, mace, and dried oregano characters. The powdery tannins and refreshing acidity give the wine a clean and savoury finish.

James Busby “Vineyard Series” Tasmania Pinot Noir

Deep ruby colour with notes of blackberry, dark cherry, and savoury spice on the nose. The palate is generously weighted and supported by black forest fruits, aromatic herbs and a crushed rock mineral note. The wine has an elegant long finish.

James Busby “Vineyard Series” Barossa Valley Shiraz

Deep plum colour with complex bouquet of dark cherry, blackberries, and clove. The palate is structured and balanced with dark fruits and savoury spice. The tannins are very subtle, and the finish is a medley of aromatic herbs, black pepper, and blood plum.

James Busby “Vineyard Series” McLaren Vale Grenache

A bright and vibrant colour with a nose of lifted red florals and savoury spice. The palate is generous with raspberries, cherries and red currants which are complemented by nutmeg spice, chalky tannins, and a refreshing acidity.
