Farm Business Resilience Program success

Cam and Bianca Schultz have built resilience through the Farm Business Resilience Program for their property in Culcairn NSW, Claverton Farm.

The aim of the program is to pivot farmer’s focus to expansion and stability, rather than to consider selling their land.

“We were lacking strategies to move forward,” said Cam.

“Having a coach to provide direction and help us implement changes has been invaluable,” said Cam.

The property spans 3,000 acres and supports around 7,000 sheep.

Their farm has faced prolonged droughts and extreme wet seasons, prompting them to strengthen their business and “future-proof” their farm using the Farm Business Resilience Program.

“Our goal isn’t to put up a ‘For Sale’ sign on the farm gate—it’s to be in a position to buy the property next door when it comes up for sale,” they said.

Cam and Bianca joined the Farm Business Resilience Program seeking guidance and direction.

The Farm Business Resilience Program provides people with structured-planning tools weekly meetings, and job lists to improve efficiency.

The program has been crucial to assisting Cam and Bianca Schultz with resilience to adapt to drought conditions and wet seasons.

“If you drop your head and think you can’t possibly get through, you’re already on the back foot,” said Bianca.

The mindset coaching they received has provided them with tools to approach challenges with a problem-solving attitude remarked Bianca.

“We have four kids, and ensuring we have quality time with them is a huge priority,” she said.

“The changes we’ve made allow us to balance our farm and family life better,” said Bianca.

“We now have clear goals, trigger points, and policies in place to help us stay on track and avoid setbacks,” said Cam.
