The Strategic Examination of R&D is focused on finding ways for Australia to foster more homegrown ideas, research, and innovation.
Increasing investment in R&D will strengthen our resilience, drive economic growth, and help us thrive.
The Federal Government is encouraging experts and anyone connected to Australia’s R&D system to read its discussion paper and give feedback and ideas.
Your contribution will:
- Give insight into Australia’s R&D capabilities, strengths and priorities
- Help government understand the opportunities and challenges for growing Australia’s R&D system
- Help government to develop advice to build a path forward for Australia’s R&D system.
The examination is being led by an independent expert panel. Feedback on the discussion paper will play a key role in shaping the panel’s recommendations to the government. Additionally, the panel is engaging with a broad range of stakeholders and leveraging expertise from across the R&D ecosystem.
The Department of Industry, Science, and Research will be holding online information sessions to discuss some of the main themes from the discussion paper and answer questions. You can register to attend on the consultation hub.
