Fine Food Sydney cancelled, Melbourne event to run as planned

Fine Food Sydney

Due to the current economic and health challenges facing New South Wales and Australia, Diversified Communications Australia have made the decision to cancel Fine Food Sydney, 8-11 March at ICC Sydney. The Melbourne event will still run 5-8 September 2022 at MCEC as planned.

Diversified Communications Australia stated that as 2021 ended they looked forward to March. As things rapidly change in this new world, the current COVID-19 Omicron outbreak is creating new challenges for hospitality businesses.

Fine Food Australia would be permitted to run under current NSW government regulations, but when considering current market conditions, Diversified Communications Australia believe it would be challenging to proceed with the same high-quality event attendees have come to expect. On reaching out to consult with key stakeholders and given the current landscape in Melbourne and Sydney, they stated that cancelling the March event is in the best interests of their customers and visitors.

As the longest running and largest food event in the southern hemisphere, Fine Food is important to the industry and the challenges it is facing have been considered.

“We always aim to ensure all our stakeholders thrive under the best conditions possible to receive the highest ROI possible and meet your business objectives,” they said.

“Given the change in circumstances, this is now best done by focusing on one large scale event in September 2022 and a return to Sydney in 2023. We’re confident that Fine Food Melbourne 5-8 September 2022 will be more integral to creating new opportunities for your business than ever before.”

As the team has done over the past two years when faced with changes to their events, they will reach out directly to all stakeholders with information regarding next steps.

“The Fine Food team remains grateful for the support and understanding of the industry as we continue to navigate these extraordinary times and look forward to seeing you in September,” they stated. “Stay safe.”
