Food and beverage supply chain event returns for 6th year

The Food & Beverage Day at the GS1 Supply Chain Week takes place at Doltone House Jones Bay Wharf in Pyrmont, Sydney on Tuesday 5 September and at Sumac & Sketch, Central Pier at the Docklands in Melbourne on Tuesday 12 September.

Hosted by GS1 Australia, the Food & Beverage program promises to deliver an interactive learning experience for supply chain professionals, suppliers, manufacturers, distributors and business owners to explore the role GS1 standards can play to drive business efficiencies and reduce costs while meeting today’s supply chain challenges.

“This event is bringing together industry experts who will share insights about supply chain industry trends, brand protection, new concepts, the latest technologies, product recalls and consumers of the future,” said Marcel Sieira, Head of Customer Engagement & Business Development at GS1 Australia.

A snapshot of speakers and their topics includes:

  • Cameron Webb, General Manager Supply Chain Solutions at Woolworths Group – supplying a supermarket retailer today is evolving from what it once was;
  • Judy McEvoy, Data Solutions Manager at Metcash – the latest trends in the independent and convenience sector;
  • Megan Treston, Executive Director at Retail Service Nielsen – consumer insights for the future;
  • Richard Bennett, Technology Manager at PMZ ANZ Pty – food safety and the supply chain;
  • Christian LeCompte, National Logistics Manager at SPC Ardmona – the demand for supplier improvement.

Delegates will also have the opportunity to network with sponsors of the event to explore how their solutions will enable the implementation of GS1 standards. Our sponsors include Stibo Systems, MessageXchange, SICK, DSI, Checkpoint Systems, Honeywell, Ivanti, Pacific Commerce, and Matthews Australasia.

“If you work in the Food & Beverage sector, this event is an ideal opportunity to discover how the GS1 system can enable you to deliver real-time information to consumers to support their highly mobile, digital lifestyles,” said GS1 Australia’s Head of Marketing & Training Solutions, Richard Jones.
