Food brands among the country’s most trusted

Weet-Bix and Cadbury are among Australia's most trusted brands, according to a Reader's Digest survey.

The Australia's Most Trusted Brand survey has been running for 12 years, and this year Reader's Digest commissioned independent research company, Catalyst Marketing and Research, to survey more than 3,000 Australians to identify their most trusted brands in 40 categories of products and services across a range of industries.

Sanitarium's Weet-Bix and Cadbury make the overall Most Trusted Brands list, coming in as eighth and tenth respectively.

Weet-Bix was also voted the most trusted breakfast brand.

Daniel Derrick, Sanitarium's general manager, marketing, said the brand's success in the Reader's Digest surveys is indicative of its hard working staff and loyal consumers.

"This award gives us confidence we're doing the right thing in our communities – which is something we're really passionate about.

"It's truly an honour receiving this recognition and it's all thanks to our dedicated team and the millions of people who enjoy our products and our trust our brands," he said.

Dick Smith and Vegemite were trumped by the Hills Hoist as Australia's most iconic brand, Bunnings won the retailing sector and Blackmores claimed the top spot for vitamins and supplements.
