Foodbank, Chep celebrate relationship

A team from CHEP has spent today packing Christmas hampers for hunger relief organisation Foodbank.

The team managed to fill 512 hampers with goods from donors including Nestle, Unilever and Rinoldi. These will be distributed to various charities throughout NSW and the ACT.

Foodbank CEO John Webster praised the pallet maker's contribution to the program.

“CHEP is the unsung hero of Foodbank," he said.

"The role CHEP plays underpins Foodbank’s supply chain nationally and without them we would simply be unable to move the food donated to where it’s needed."

Chep is a member of the Foodbank Fresh Produce Industry Group.

“In CHEP’s 18 year partnership with Foodbank, we estimate we’ve provided more than 300,000 pallets as well as bins and crates for fresh food,” said Phillip Austin, Chep's CEO.
