Foodtech Packtech industry show in New Zealand appeals to businesses of all sizes

The Auckland-based trade show, Foodtech Packtech, is New Zealand’s only industry event that caters to the needs of the food and beverage sector no matter whether a business is well-established, a growing start-up, or making headway in nana’s kitchen.

Foodtech Packtech, organised by XPO Exhibitions, is free to attend for all industry professionals and there is a huge amount of valuable insight to be gained.

The show, held at the ASB Showgrounds from the 18th-20th of September 2018, could fast track business growth in just three days.

From face-to-face meetings with industry experts, to seminars that help people grow their business from table to shelf to a global scale, Foodtech Packtech should not be missed.

There will be hands-on workshops to help businesses develop more skills and understanding, an Education and Training Hub to help boost professional development, and a Business Growth Hub that can push businesses to the next level of success.

Julian Horsley from A&D Weighing said food industry trade events such as Foodtech Packtech formed a major part of the company’s annual marketing investment.

“When it comes to high payoff activities, there is none better than demonstrating our solutions one-on-one at an event like this and we’ve recouped our investment in days not months.”

In 2016, the company’s stand had more than 750 visitors, he said.

People can source all the equipment they need under one roof including products from Food Processing Equipment, which will showcase its mechanical handling and washing equipment.

Food Processing Equipment general manager, Tania Carey, said all food producers had a use for processing equipment so there was something for everyone.

“For us, the show means showing new technology and getting in front of potentially new clients. Over the years, the show has put us in front of companies we didn’t know before,” she said.

Key exhibitors for 2018 include Heat and Control, and Vemag – manufacturers of processing and packaging equipment for standalone processing options or complete production lines.

Industrial storage and shelving company, Dexion, will showcase its expertly designed and engineered systems that help businesses increase productivity and capacity.

Other leading exhibitors include MultiVac, Minipack Quick Shrink and J L Lennard.

With the environmental effects of packaging and waste at the forefront of consumers’ minds, the Australian Institute of Packaging is hosting a half-day training course on the 19th of September.

The course will provide participants with an introduction to the seriousness of global food waste and how good product-packaging design could make a difference.

“With hands-on and practical case studies participants will learn how designing packaging to save food actually saves food,” the institute said.

An Innovation Quarter will also help event-goers learn how the latest industry technologies, such as augmented reality devices and drones, can make businesses more efficient.
