Manufacturer of nutrient premixes for the food, beverage and pharmaceutical industries, Fortitech, has announced plans to double the size of its facility in Campinas, Brazil to 65,000 sq/ft.
Director General for Fortitech South America, Juarez A. Fairon Rech, said consumer demand for fortified goods in the South American market had driven the expansion.
“The investment we are making will provide our customers with a one-stop-shop for all their fortification and end product packaging needs,” he said. “This complete service offering is a cost efficient solution to get their products to market faster, without sacrificing quality.”
The new facility will be Fortitech’s third largest operation worldwide.
It will include a laboratory for developing and testing premixes as well as a larger manufacturing and distribution centre. The facility will also include blenders capable of producing over 6,000 metric tonnes of premixes annually.
The new facility is scheduled for completion in late 2011.
