Four Pillars releases high ABV gin as travel retail exclusive

Four Pillars Gin has released a brand-new high ABV gin, Rare Dry Gin Export Strength, in an exclusive partnership with global travel retailer, Heinemann.

The one-litre bottle is the craft distillery’s first global travel retail exclusive, landing on shelves in Heinemann’s Sydney Airport stores (both Arrivals and Departures) in July and rolling out to the wider Heinemann network later in 2023.

While made using the same recipe as Four Pillars’ signature and award-winning Rare Dry Gin, the Export Strength gin comes in at a hefty 50.8 per cent ABV, making it 9 per cent higher than its original counterpart which sits at 41.8 per cent ABV.

With a deep juniper canvas and loads of concentrated spice, Rare Dry Gin Export Strength offers more depth, power and concentration than Four Pillars original gin.

The fresh organic oranges – the hallmark of both Rare Dry Gin and its Export Strength sibling – offer a beautiful and refreshing Mediterranean twist which will be further unlocked when mixed in a G&T or a Martini with a twist.

“We started working on the recipe for Rare Dry Gin ten years ago and it has become the heart and soul of Four Pillars. We haven’t changed this recipe since we first released in December 2013 so to revisit it nearly ten years on is a significant moment. And to make it strong, well that’s a distiller’s dream!” says Cam Mackenzie, Four Pillars co-founder and distiller.

This partnership with the global travel retail giant builds on a long-term relationship, with Heinemann being one of Four Pillars’ first global travel retail partners.

“Global travel retail is a huge focus for Four Pillars and we’re thrilled to bring something new, exciting and most of all delicious to the table in partnership with Heinemann,” says David Hogan, Four Pillars GTR and international sales director.

“This gin offers something unique to Australian travellers familiar with the Four Pillars range, while continuing to build our presence away from our home shores.”

Ranjith Menon, director, Heinemann Purchasing (LTC and P&C) adds, “We are delighted to bring Four Pillars Rare Dry Gin Export Strength to shoppers for the first time.

“This latest exclusive launch demonstrates our longstanding partnership with Four Pillars, and the key role that iconic local brands play in creating a sense of place and a truly spectacular assortment. We look forward to bringing this Heinemann exclusive to our network.”
