France goes nuts for Oz

Next week’s SIAL food exhibition in Paris will feature nine australian nut exporters.

The stand, hosted by Horticulture Australia Limited, will feature macadamias, almonds and dried fruit.

In the last 12 months, exports of these products to Europe were valued at $62 million, with dried fruit exports valued at $9.5 million, almonds at $31 million and macadamias at $22 million.

Australian almonds are being positioned as an alternative source of fresh almonds, counter seasonal to the Californian supply.
