Freedom Foods prepares to expand

Freedom Foods is about to open a new UHT milk processing factory in Shepparton, in north-east Victoria.

It is roughly 60 percent-owned by the Perich family.

"Where before we used a lot of contract packers to manufacture our own products, now we have our own facility in Leeton where we manufacture our own cereals, biscuits and bars,” Michael Perich told ABC Rural.

"And we're actually starting to export some of these products into the US now."

Freedom was established in 1990 in Melbourne, and is currently based in NSW’s Riverina region.

Freedom makes gluten-free cereals and snack bars, and has seen its share price soar from $1 in April to about $3.36 now, reports Fairfax.
