From the magnificent Amalfi Coast to the legendary Via Veneto

The exclusive Brunello Lounge & Restaurant of Regina Hotel Baglioni on Via Veneto will host an event of gastronomic specialties in which genuine Mediterranean ingredients dating back in time are on scene. On March 4th and 5th 2011 the famed restaurant Don Alfonso 1890 of Sant’Agata sui due Golfi will delight Roman guests with Chef Alfonso Iaccarino’s fantastic creations.

In 1890 Don Alfonso, grandfather to the great Chef who bears his same name, unknowingly initiated his family on a true adventure of the highest level in the restaurant industry. Chef Alfonso will surprise guests of the Roman hotel during these two days by sharing with them traditional culinary aroma and flavors from  Campania, symbol of Mediterranean gastronomy.

“Don Alfonso 1890 definitely represents an institution for Italian gastronomy,” declares Marco Milocco, General Manager of Regina Hotel Baglioni in Rome. “We are proud of this occasion in which, thanks to this rare joint effort, many lovers of gourmet cuisine can enjoy the delicacies prepared by Chef Iaccarino, in the warmth and comfort found exclusively at our Brunello Lounge & Restaurant”.

Traditional regional foods such as citrus fruits, vegetables and local herbs are the core ingredients which make up this rich menu. These include sweet and sour lobster with julienned winter vegetables, nudi di ricotta or ricotta gnocchi balls in thick sea hen soup with verbena and nettle, Nonno Alfonso’s strascinati pasta in ragù sauce made with San Marzano tomatoes and the grand finale of the scent and flavor of a lemon concert.

Precious Italian ingredients of Chef’s innovative dishes will be the star at the elegant Regina Hotel Baglioni. These products are carefully grown and then selected from the family farm allowing a special guarantee of excellence which keeps with the Roman hotel’s desire to always offer the best to its clients.
