Frucor beverages simply squeezed

New Zealand’s Commerce Commission has cleared Frucor Beverages to acquire Hawke’s Bay juice maker Simply Squeezed.

The Commission’s chairman Mark Berry said the organisation was satisfied that Frucor’s acquisition would not substantially lessen competition in the country’s national market for the manufacture, import and supply of fruit beverages.

Frucor already owns and manufactures Just Juice, Fresh Up, Arano, Joo-C, Citrus Tree, McCoy and Twist fruit beverage brands.

The company is a subsidiary of Japan’s Suntory Holdings and is the second largest supplier of non-alcoholic beverages in New Zealand behind Coca-Cola Amatil (NZ) Ltd.
