Furphy Engineering named Fabricator of the Year

Furphy Engineering, a maker of tanks and vessels for the food industry and elsewhere, was recently announced as the 2017 WTIA (Welding Technology Institute of Australia) Fabricator of the Year.

The award recognises and applauds our performance across a comprehensive range of business metrics including demonstrated innovation, quality assurance, market success,  community engagement, health and safety record, and commitment to the training and development of employees.

The award acknowledges Furphy’s 150-year history of manufacturing in Australia and the leadership of five generations of Furphy family members.

Today the company combines in-house design and engineering expertise with state-of-the-art equipment and a dedicated 3-tiered QA/QC department to deliver high quality, locally made stainless steel tanks to a wide range of Australian industries.

Furphy managing director MD, Adam Furphy (pictured right) captures the significance of receiving the WTIA award. “It is a great honour to be recognised amongst Australian manufacturing in receiving this award,” he said.

“Our company motto of ‘Good, Better, Best’ truly represents both our philosophy of continuous improvement and our commitment to delivering stainless steel tanks that have been designed and built to the highest possible standards. We expend a great deal of energy to ensure that this claim can be made so it is particularly pleasing to be acknowledged with this prestigious award from a tremendously important institution such as the WTIA.”
