Hewitt, an Australian food producer, won two major Australian Organic Industry Awards this year, including the highly coveted Business of the Year Award; and Brand of the Year for Cleaver’s Organic.
The Australian Organic Industry Awards recognise excellence in the Australian organic industry and showcase the outstanding achievements of products, individuals, brands and businesses.
Business of the Year was awarded to Hewitt, highlighting the company’s contribution to, and innovation in, the certified organic industry.
The award is also a recognition of Hewitt’s commitment to employee development in certified organic practices.
Chief executive officer and managing director at Hewitt, Mick Hewiit said, “Our team has worked hard over the years to become an Australian market leader in organic red meat products. Our philosophy of treating the land, animals and people well has placed us in a strong position to produce high-quality certified organic meat products.”
Cleaver’s Organic took out the Brand of the Year category. A successful 25 years in market has enabled the brand to solidify and grow its leadership in the delivery of new value-add products to increase consumer demand.

Hewitt was also nominated in the innovation category at the Australian Organic Industry Awards for its commitment to sustainability.
Cleaver’s Organic meat packaging has rolled out new paper-based trays made from recyclable and sustainably sourced materials.
The packs contain 75% less plastic than equivalent packs using plastic trays and labels.
