Idyll Wine Co flying high in latest industry ranking

Geelong-based full-service beverage manufacturer, Idyll Wine Co, has once again been ranked amongst the top 10 by sales of branded wine in Australia, according to the latest rankings by Winetitles media.

Idyll Wine Co achieved leading positions by total revenue (14th) and total wine production (15th) among 2268 producers in the country despite intensifying industry competition, such as a 2 per cent increase in the number of wine producers in Australia in 2021.

The manufacturer achieved production of 10 million cans and 23 million bottles in 2020, following this momentum, the company is projecting to further exceed these figures in 2021, forecasting production of 20 million cans and 30 million bottles.

The company has reported several bumper results over the past five years, along with employee headcount tripling from 42 in 2016 to over 120 today, while the company’s total revenue boasted a threefold increase.

Underpinning the robust business growth are combined factors of portfolio diversification and a series of sustainability initiatives.

Idyll Wine Co’s business diversification has proven crucial to its recent successes, enabling the business to maintain a strong position across 2020 amidst a spate of disruptions the wine industry suffered over the year.

Andrew Byers, Executive Director at Idyll Wine Co said it was the diversified portfolios that helped the manufacturer overcome those challenges while continuing to innovate and grow.

“Our strategy is clear. We strive to build an environmentally sustainable, healthy, profitable business that rewards its employees, respects its environment, and contributes to its community,” said Andrew.

“We pride ourselves on exporting to 45 global markets outside Australia and China, including the UK, the UAE, Sri Lanka, Russia and Japan, meaning we can share great quality Australian wine across the globe.”
