IGA boosts support for Special Olympics Australia

IGA supermarkets across Australia has boosted its support of Special Olympics Australia with the addition of the its signature range of products.

The 1,300 IGA supermarkets have been supporting the not-for-profit organisation, which provides year-round sports training and competitions for children and adults with an intellectual disability,

Using a successful cause-related marketing program within its network of supermarkets, a percentage from the purchase of IGA’s Special Olympics branded products is donated to the not-for-profit organisation, which provides year-round sports training and competitions for children and adults with an intellectual disability. A total of $770,000 in donation has been reached since 2001.

With the inclusion of IGA’s new Signature range, donations to Special Olympics has grown to over 200 products, assisting the Special Olympics to provide a quality multi-sports program to over 4,000 Australians living with an intellectual disability.

“IGA stores around Australia are well known for their community involvement and our partnership with Special Olympics provides an exciting opportunity for IGA to support a group sometimes overlooked in our community — those children and adults with an intellectual disability,” IGA Distribution CEO, Silvestro Morabito said.
