ISOIL has introduced the THERMAG VALVE CS611, a two way control valve with an integrated electromagnetic thermal energy meter designed for heating and cooling applications.
The device combines flow control and thermal energy measurement in a single unit, enabling energy monitoring, calculation and billing in accordance with EN1434 and the MID Directive 2014/32/EU.
THERMAG VALVE is designed to measure and monitor energy consumption in both new and existing buildings while supporting connectivity with building management systems (BMS) and IoT platforms.
The unit can be used with water and water glycol mixtures and is approved for billing applications under the MID Directive 2014/32/EU.
The integrated electromagnetic flowmeter operates using Faraday’s Law of electromagnetic induction, measuring the movement of conductive liquids through a magnetic field. According to ISOIL, the technology provides measurement accuracy of 0.8 per cent of reading for conductive thermal fluids and additive mixtures.
The valve body is manufactured from DZR anti corrosion brass, while the flow sensor is constructed from PEEK and incorporates HC276 electrodes. The valve and meter are integrated into a single compact device, reducing installation requirements and eliminating the need for separate components.
THERMAG VALVE can be programmed to regulate flow according to a range of operating parameters selected through a building management system via Ethernet, MODbus or BACnet communication protocols.
Available control parameters include:
- Flow rate;
- Thermal power;
- Temperature differential;
- Inlet temperature;
- Outlet temperature;
- Pressure differential;
- External process or BMS source.
The device is intended for applications requiring energy monitoring, flow control and integration with building automation systems.
