Get ready to say “Ciao!” as a Quay Quarter Lanes transform into a postcard from Italy, kicking off Summer in Sydney, Friday 1st of December.
In an ode to the flavours, aromas, and music of the Amalfi Coast – without the passport – it’s a celebration of all things Summer, complete with mouth watering food, flowing Italian-inspired wine, and Prosecco.
Good Food announced that Guy Grossi, renowned for his hatted restaurants in Melbourne, will be curating this unique culinary experience for one special night only, prepared with ‘molto amore’ by Lana (Hinchcliff House) head chef, Alex Wong.
Grossi’s acclaimed, hatted restaurants across Melbourne have long defined the city as the ultimate destination for excellent Italian food and the nurturing of culinary traditions.
While he has ventured his multi-hatted empire into Perth and Brisbane, Sydney has yet to experience the ‘Grossi magic’, so Quay Quarter Lanes are hosting the magic for Sydneysiders.
Both his Melbourne institution Grossi Florentino and his new cult venue Puttanesca have inspired the menu collaboration with Lana’s Head Chef Alex Wong.
Grossi said “I’m thrilled to be curating the Italiano Lane event and sharing my ‘Puttanesca Three Ways’ with the wonderful people of Sydney.”
“My passion for Italian cooking stems from my heritage, experiences in the kitchen, and my love for quality ingredients. I draw inspiration from the places I’ve visited and the people I’ve met, especially those who produce the ingredients I use,” he continued.
“My earliest food memory is with Mamma in the kitchen and the aroma of onion and garlic frying. Join me at the Italiano Lane event for a culinary experience that celebrates the essence of Italian cuisine.”
Alongside the incredible menu, Bar Mammoni will be serving up refreshing spritz, and Zini Contemporary Gelateria and Adora Handmade Chocolates will add the dolce for sweet treats and dessert.
