Japanese Orion releases ‘champagne of beers’ into the Australian market

Japanese beer brand, Orion has launched its ‘champagne of beers’, Orion Premium Draft Beer into the Australian market.

The beer is produced on the sub-tropical Japanese island of Okinawa, and is the only mainstream Japanese beer to be exclusively brewed and bottled in Japan.

Tim Brotherton, Owner of Asian Beer Online has welcomed the introduction of Orion into the Australian market, stating that Australians are demanding a greater variety of craft beers as the market gains popularity.

“Premium craft beers are becoming increasingly more popular, with the consumption of craft beer increasing by six per cent every year,” says Brotherton. “Australians are growing more aware of the local and international craft beer market and the array of choices available.”

“We are constantly on the look-out for flavoursome and authentic beers to suit the needs of the beer connoisseur and Orion Premium Draft Beer is such a drink.”

The beverage has also garnered praised from  Andre Bishop, owner of Nihonshu Sake Bar, Izakaya Chuji and Kumo Izakaya restaurants, Melbourne.

“Orion Premium Draft Beer is a light and refreshing Asian beer with more body and character than many other Japanese brands," says Bishop. "Its easy and smooth style really complements Asian cuisine and lighter meats such as chicken, pork or fish.”

The beer is light with the taste of mild citrus, grassy and biscuity malt flavours coupled with a low level of bitterness.
