Jobs means Heinz

HJ Heinz Australia has reassured Golden Circle workers that it has no plans to cut manufacturing jobs.

Golden Circle has about 1000 staff at its two plants in Northgate, Queensland, and Mill Park in Victoria, and Heinz acquired the food producer in December.

Heinz spokeswoman, Jessica Ramsden, said no manufacturing jobs had been cut since Heinz completed the purchase.

“There will be minimal impact on manufacturing jobs at Northgate and Mill Park. We have plans to invest in the infrastructure of both,” she said.

“We plan to grow the Golden Circle brand and the production facilities are a very important part of that.”

She said Heinz aimed to increase Northgate’s warehouse capacity by 50% but it wasn’t known if this would bring additional jobs.

Heinz said management and administrative functions of the Golden Circle brand would be consolidated at Heinz’s Australian base in Melbourne.

Ramsden said about 50 administrative and sales jobs would go by September from the Northgate facility.
