Some of the industry’s most highly recognised leaders and experts will take to the stage at AWRE’s inaugural Resource Recovery Summit “Getting to 80 Per Cent”, hosted by National Waste and Recycling Industry Council (NWRIC) and Waste Contractors and Recyclers Association of NSW (WCRA).
Taking place for the first time on Wednesday 24 August at ICC Sydney, this half-day Summit will cover three topical areas including: Municipal Solid Waste, Commercial & Industrial and Construction & Demolition. Each panel session is designed to analyse each sectors’ current situation and the steps necessary to achieve the National Waste Policy Action Plan’s target of 80 per cent average resource recovery rate by 2030.
The first session of the day, covering Municipal Solid Waste, will be facilitated by legendary industry consultant Mike Ritchie, managing director of MRA Consulting Group. This session will explore the challenges and opportunities facing the MSW sector. Industry leaders will explore key issues such as: kerbside harmonisation, recycling modernisation fund investment stimulus, infrastructure requirements and innovations in technology.

The Resource Recovery Summit has been expertly curated to encourage high-level collaboration between industry, government and waste generators.
