Sunshine Coast food and beverage manufacturer Gourmet Taste Creations has been awarded double honours at the Royal Tasmania Fine Food Awards this year.
Gourmet Taste Creations has received both Champion and Reserve Champion honours at the awards due to their range of unique, hand-blended herb and spice blends, salts and peppers, savoury dukkahs, sugars, mustards and teas.
Across the competition, Gourmet Taste Creations were awarded a total of five gold, 12 silver and 18 bronze medals, with scores nearing 100.
Gourmet Taste Creations founder and product creator Colleen Walters highlighted the expert judging and detailed feedback from the awards panel for continuous improvement and is ecstatic with the consistency of the overall results across the multiple product portfolio.
2022 awards ambassador and celebrity chef Peter Kuruvita said, “The use of native ingredients in one (Seafood Grill) and the use of smokiness you expect in a meat rub (Chipotle Lime Rub). If you had those two rubs at home you, could it on everything from chicken, meat, vegetables. I thought the quality of ingredients, the flavours and aromas were top class!”
Kuruvita further added that “to understand that one company has won both major awards, that the company is thinking that deeply about their products, their looking across the board to come up with those two products – they are brilliant, just excellent.”
