Lovedale Lager puts Hunter Valley beer on the map

The Hunter Valley’s newest brewery, Lovedale has won the Australia Trophy for Best European Style Lager at the Australian International Beer Awards.

In addition to gaining 'gold status', the Lovedale Lager was also named the third best beer in the competition across all categories.

Lovedale’s brewery manager, Michael Capaldosaid that the win was great news for the brewery, stating that he hoped the Hunter Valley will soon be as famous for beer as it currently is for wine.

“Lovedale Brewery might be new but it has made an immediate impact and we hope to make the Hunter Valley as famous for its beers as it is for its wines,” said Mr Capaldo

“The Lovedale Brewery will showcase locally produced craft beers, and in the future we will look to add whiskeys and other spirits.”
