Mad Mex Announces Winners in the Annual Golden Burrito Awards

The winners in the annual Mad Mex Golden Burrito Awards were announced last week in celebration of the people who have demonstrated exceptional contribution to the business and delivered on the Mad Mex values over the past year.

The four major Golden Burrito award categories and winners include:

  • “Bien Chingones” Franchise Restaurant of the Year 2023 (Erina Fair)
  • “Bien Chingones” Business Manager of the Year 2023 (Dennis Cuyugan)
  • “Bien Chingones” Support Office Champion of the Year 2023 (Loane Avenell)
  • “Bien Chingones” Supplier of the Year 2023 (DoorDash)

The five awards and winners in the values category include:

  • Connected Award 2023 (Garry Singh, West Gosford)
  • Cheeky Award 2023 (Prajwal Shrestha, Joondalup)
  • Authentic Award 2023 (Abhi Bhalla and Hitesh Kaushik, Doncaster)
  • Own It Award 2023 (Michael Ong, Randwick)
  • Healthy Award 2023 (Hannah Moerman, Tweed)

Mad Mex CEO, Therese Frangie, said, “Conference is one of my favourite times of year. Franchisees, employees and suppliers from across the nation come together to connect, grow, and celebrate our remarkable achievements.

The awards come off the back of some incredible partnerships and innovations this year, including the collaboration Smith’s x Mad Mex Hot Sauce Chips, and new menu item, Spicy Yucatan Chicken.

The past year has seen Mad Mex on a strong trajectory of growth with a focus on menu innovation and restaurant openings. The company plans to scale its restaurant footprint to 100 by 2026 and has seen same-store sales increase by an average of 25 per cent each month over the last 12 months.
