Mars joins Sustainability Consortium

Mars has joined the world Sustainability Consortium in support of the organization’s science-based work toward a more sustainable global supply chain.

The Sustainability Consortium is an independent organization of diverse global participants that work collaboratively to build a scientific foundation that drives innovation to improve consumer product sustainability.

The consortium develops transparent methodologies, tools and strategies to drive a new generation of products and supply networks that address environmental, social and economic imperatives.

Global sustainability director for Mars Kevin Rabinovitch said: “Mars believes that science-based assessment and allocation of life-cycle product impacts are critical to enabling a transition to a more sustainable production-consumption model.

Co-director of the consortium and executive director of the University of Arkansas Applied Sustainability Centre, Jon Johnson, welcomed Mars to the consortium.

“We are excited to welcome Mars Incorporated into the consortium," he said.

“They are a proven leader in the realm of corporate sustainability, and their knowledge and leadership will be a tremendous asset.”
