Me&u and Third Place are calling Australian hospitality venues to join WFHospoWeek

Tap, order and pay app creator, me&u, teams up with hospitality-inspired workspace and employee experience platform, Third Place, to launch ‘National Work from Hospo Week’.

Launching on Monday October 16th and running through to Friday October 20th, WFHospoWeek will see venues across Australia embrace the fast-growing flexible, hybrid, and remote work economy.

The initiative aims to encourage Australian workers to embrace a change of scenery, moving away from the isolation of working from home, while enhancing mental health, wellbeing, and productivity.

Katrina Barry, CEO of me&u, says there has been a shift in the perception of hospitality venues since the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Following the pandemic, we have witnessed a shift in the way Australians perceive and interact with hospitality venues,” she said.

“The pub has become more than a place to blow off steam on a Friday night, with many new trends emerging, one of these being Australian consumers seeking to use third places as workspaces, embracing the new future of remote work in a post-pandemic world.”

The WFHospoWeek movement aims to encourage workers into hospitality venues across Australia to eat, drink and work flexibly.

The movement comes after 2022 research from me&u – revealing that Aussies want pubs to play a changing role in their lives, with 28% looking for ‘work from venue’ options and adaptable day-to-night or family facilities.

Paul Veltman, chief growth officer and co-founder of Third Place says, “after the success of our #WFHospo initiative last year, we’re thrilled to expand the initiative into #WFHospo week with the brilliant team at me&u.”
